Dr Kabongo E. Kabala is an obstetrician and gynaecologist in Tzaneen and Phalaborwa with comprehensive expertise and a profound commitment to enhancing patient well-being. His qualifications include an MBCHB, a Master of Science in Oncology from Newcastle University, and specialised certifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FCOG, MMED) from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. He is also a member of the South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (SASOG), the South-African Society of Aesthetic Gynaecologists (S.A.A.G.S), the European Society of Aesthetic Gynaecologists (E.S.A.G).
Dr Kabala’s journey into medicine was driven by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. He chose the medical field out of a calling to offer healthcare and a compassionate presence to those in need. Dr Kabala serves full-time as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Aesthetic Gynaecologist at Mediclinic in Tzaneen, Limpopo, where he has been part of the team since December 2022. He also held a pivotal full-time role as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Specialist at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Pretoria, Gauteng, from June 2022 to September 2023.
Before specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Kabala was deeply involved in oncology research and patient care, which provided him with a firm foundation for handling complex medical cases with precision and empathy. His tenure as a Medical Officer at the Health Department in South Africa, spanning over several years, equipped him with invaluable experiences across a broad spectrum of medical challenges and patient demographics.
Outside the hospital, Dr Kabala enjoys a personal life filled with reading, playing tennis, cycling and experiencing cinema. These hobbies provide him with relaxation and joy and enrich his understanding of the human experience, which he brings into his practice.
